These sections of the site aim to gather together all the information we have on Balloch and its surroundings and to present them in chronological order.

However, please also see the Themes section which presents topics which may not fit readily into a strict timescale, or may be currently under discussion and investigation (eg The Balloch Cairns project).

The image gallery brings to gether pictures relating to the history of Balloch.

The Historical Periods section is itself divide into;

Pre-history - approx 6000 BC  to 0AD

Early Historic period - approx 0 AD to 1000 AD

Later Historic period - approx 1000 AD to 1800 AD

The Timeline covers the whole period and includes a few more entries relevant to the wider area and Inverness.
