<description>At long last, I have time in my shedule to write down some of my thoughts. It has been over two years since I have had a break. I might even manage to take some singing lessons. A miracle! This gap in my schedule will also give me time to take stock, and maybe make some career defining decisions.
I have recently had such a wonderful time on tour with the Hebrides Ensemble. What an incredible group of musicians they are! Lovely people too. We performed 3 differing pieces with string quartet. I love that sort of collaberative music making, where everyone really listens, and no egos are involved. I have to say that it felt such an honour to be singing with such incredible players. I have recently been downloading a lot of my favourite music onto my ipod. I hope you're impressed! It occurs to me that it is almost exclusively string music. And these guys can't half play. Bliss. The most revelatory thing from my perspective was how much I enjoyed singing Schoenberg's 2nd string quartet, for soprano. It felt very easy and very right. I displayed my first ever public top C with ease and aplomb. I have since been trying out some other soprano repertoire, and it really fits. Watch this space. I am obviously seeking out lots of second opinions and advice. This is on the back of singing a role in Smetana's Two Widows, which is again regarded as a soprano role.

One final thought. Go Obama!</description>
