Admissions Policy
Before a child first attends our nursery to avoid them any distress, parents are invited to bring their child for a short settling in period and if they wish, to stay for an hour or two at first, with their child.
The child is then gradually weaned in, perhaps one day a week to start with until s/he feels at home in the new environment.
Confidentiality
All information about parents and children is treated as confidential by the staff and is discussed only with the staff group to help the family.
Any disclosure of confidential information to any professional person outwith the staff group may only be undertaken with the expressed permission of the parents, EXCEPT where it is considered necessary for the protection of a child when information will be shared with the appropriate professionals.

Health and Safety
For security, all doors are kept locked and only parents and carers are able to gain access to the building using their fingerprint. No child is ever allowed to leave the nursery unless collected by their parents or an adult who is known to the staff by arrangement with the parents.
In the interests of general health we ask that children suffering from an infectious or contagious condition be kept away. Also any child suffering from sickness and/or diarrhoea the 48 hour rule applies (they should be kept away from nursery 48 hours from last episode) A member of staff trained in ‘First Aid’ is always on duty.
A very strict standard of hygiene is maintained throughout the nursery, particularly with regard to the baby change area. Changes of clothes are available in case of any ‘wee’ accidents, but it would be of help for each child to have some spare clothes at the nursery.
All garden and outside play is thoroughly supervised and our play areas are securely fenced, ensuring all children are safely protected from the car park and dropping off areas.
